Policy and Aims


Strategic Objectives and Objectives of the Department:

The strategic goals and objectives of the department were shared with internal and external stakeholders and were determined as follows:

  • To update undergraduate and graduate education programs in accordance with international standards in order to increase the success of students,
  • To increase the number of minor programs in order to improve the quality of education and training, to organize the department program for double major (DMP), to increase the number of foreign language courses,
  • To prepare an infrastructure project for the renewal and development of student and research laboratories, improvement and development of device equipment in order to develop scientific and innovative research capacity; To take necessary steps to provide a ventilation system in order to work healthily in laboratories and not to harm the environment,
  • To train chemists who can use the basic devices and modern analysis devices that can be found in chemistry laboratories and who have today’s computer and information technologies in order to improve the academic skills and capacity of human resources to conduct qualified and effective research,
  • To organize activities such as seminars that can contribute to the academic development of students in chemistry and related fields in order to strengthen institutional capacity, improve interaction with stakeholders and social service quality,
  • To increase the number of national and international projects (BAP, TÜBİTAK, European Union projects) per faculty member in order to improve the quality of education and training, and to encourage scientific research by encouraging undergraduate students whose grade point average is above 2.5 to work in these projects,
  • To take initiatives to carry out joint projects with industry and industrial organizations in order to strengthen institutional capacity, improve interaction with stakeholders and social service quality.

  • To train young people who have gained problem-solving skills, who specialize in many technical fields such as instrumental analysis, who carry out national and international R&D academic studies, who are lifelong learners, who can think analytically and independently,
  • To contribute to social development by conducting up-to-date and qualified scientific studies with national and international collaborations.

Research and Development Policy:

  • To carry out qualified scientific studies by developing original, up-to-date and high value-added interdisciplinary projects,
  • To share the scientific information produced with other researchers by publishing it in national and international reputable journals,
  • Carrying out unique and qualified projects centered on industry-university cooperation, including undergraduate and graduate students,
  • To continuously improve the existing research infrastructure and to provide opportunities for new research.
